Delta Bots Team 25757B

The Tech Titans morphed into the Delta Bots over the Summer of 2025.

5th graders, Finn and Nayel, remained and we added Nayel's 4th grade sister, Niyah, and another 4th grade robotics enthusiast, Ben.

The team dove into building the hero bot, Huey, over the summer to get a feeling for this year's game, Mix & Match. With a few upgrades, it performed very well, but not good enough to get them to the finals at the Nysmith Tournament. They had been working on a conveyor bot design alongside Huey, but it wasn't ready for Nysmith. The team worked really hard between Thanksgiving and Christmas to get the conveyor bot ready for the Fun-In-The-Sun Signature Event in Orlando, FL over New Year's. It performed well, and they had fun, but there was very strong competition from all over the world there and they did not have enough practice time with the new robot, so they only managed to place 51st.

They continued practicing and making adjustments to the robot and it finally paid off! They ranked 4th at the Potomac tournament in January and 3rd at the Itty Bitty tournament in February. Both of those rankings got them into the finals. They finished 5th at Potomac and won the Innovate Award for their "Slapper" design that helps knock the pins into the robot's stacking area.

They ended up winning the Trifecta at Itty Bitty! They placed first in the finals winning Teamwork. Plus they finished first in the Skills challenge and won the Excellence award (combination of our robot's performance, plus their interview, plus their engineering notebook). This earned them a spot at the VA State Championships.

The Delta Bots finished 3rd in Skills and won the Design Award at the VA State Championships! The Design Award earned them an invite to the Vex World Championships in St. Louis, MO at the end of April!

They are currently working hard preparing for Worlds. Wish them luck!!
